SALARY: $65k base plus commission

Inside Higher Ed, the leading source for the latest news, analysis, and services for the entire higher education community, is seeking a proven sales leader for our Careers recruiting team. The Account Executive will play a critical role in achieving our revenue objectives and expanding and maintaining our client base. This role will report to the Director of Sales and will also be responsible for both placing outbound calls to potential customers and handling inbound leads to secure annual contracts with new clients for our Careers business. They will also work to maintain our client base by renewing existing clients. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong multitasking abilities, and a sharp analytical sense, as well as a collaborative mindset and a willingness to go above and beyond when necessary to get the job done well.
Role Responsibilities:
• Engages directly with prospective and existing customers via telephone and email to understand their needs and challenges, presenting relevant products and services to generate sales opportunities and drive revenue growth.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries within an assigned territory, providing timely and professional support.
• Educates customers on products and services, explains pricing structures, responds to enquiries, and articulates value propositions to strengthen customer relationships and support sales outcomes.
• Conducts proactive follow-up activities via telephone and email to nurture leads, progress opportunities, and maintain customer engagement throughout the sales process.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date customer records, activities and pipeline information within Salesforce and Outreach.
• Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning, maintaining up-to-date product and industry knowledge to effectively support customers and identify commercial opportunities.
Requirements:
• Creative, enthusiastic thinker and a passion for learning.
• 2+ years' experience as SDR; ability to manage and close large and small sales deals, and to work closely with customer success team.
• Strong customer service and tele sales skills.
• Assertive, out-going entrepreneurial spirit.
• Strong work ethic demonstrated by willingness to jump in where and when needed to accomplish shared objectives.
• Experienced in Web-Based Applications (Salesforce & Outreach) and Windows.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly skilled at managing sales-cycles and closing new business in a fast-paced environment using solution selling principles and concepts.
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Business or related field preferred.
• Effective communication and client presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
• Experience in recruiting or job placement a plus.
